Chin Up! Chin Augmentation and Rhinoplasty O'Neil Engeron, M.D.
When a face is viewed in profile, it becomes immediately obvious that the chin and nose work in tandem to create a balanced look. With this in mind, look at your profile with an imaginary line drawn from the forehead through the most forward point of your upper lip. Then, extend this line down to your chin. If your chin meets this imaginary line, then it projects sufficiently.
On the other hand, if your chin extends beyond the line, you have a strong chin. If it falls short of this line, then your chin is under projected. A weak chin can make an average sized nose appear large. The chin can be strengthened and the entire profile can be brought into harmony, by performing a chin augmentation with a chin implant. A more complex correction is by moving the entire chin bone or the lower jaw forward.
The chin implant is an office procedure, performed with local anesthesia. For more information, or to schedule a consultation, call or contact my office. I take pride in providing a high standard of quality care for my patients. My office is conveniently located at 615 Dunn St. and emphasizes breast augmentation and reduction, scar revision, rhinoplasty and other cosmetic procedures of the face and body.
P.S. Patients may come to the plastic surgeon for a nose job and learn that chin augmentation, alone or in addition to the rhinoplasty, will better serve their needs. | | More articles from O'Neil J. Engeron, M.D. |
